Dedicated to bringing at-risk youth more opportunity, Devereux Georgia assists children who are victims of extreme poverty, abuse or neglect. AMI and its employees truly believe in the inspiring work of this institution. We have actively supported the efforts of this non-profit residential treatment network for many years, and in 2007, AMI was proud to be named as Devereux's Community Partner of the Year.

Over the years, AMI employees have looked for unique ways we can help this organization and its children thrive. Some of the projects have included:

• Wall of Wishes: Each December, the resident children of Devereux write out their Christmas gift wishes on individual paper ornaments. These ornaments are taped to the walls of AMI, where employees can take them down, purchase the gifts and help make these wishes come true. Every year this effort has grown larger, and every year, the children of Devereux receive hundreds of gifts from AMI employees.
• The Playground: On April 22nd, 2006, AMI joined other volunteers to help build a new playground for the children of Devereux. The Home Depot & Kaboom Playground Systems donated the materials and the tools. AMI employees and their family members donated their time to help put everything together. The kids were very appreciative, and the playground continues to be one of their favorite places to be.
• Book and Magazine Drives: To help offer more to the children of Devereux, AMI has sponsored company-wide magazine and book drives. The success of previous drives has turned this into an annual event at AMI where everyone gets involved, and the children receive hundreds of books and magazines as a result.
• Entertainment Drives: Similar to the magazine and book drives, AMI employees have stepped-up and donated many CDs, DVDs and Video tapes to offer the children some wholesome entertainment to enjoy during their stay at Devereux.
• Computer Donations: AMI has donated refurbished computers to Devereux to help them create more learning opportunities for the children.
• Silent Auction: In 2008, AMI donated many pieces of framed artwork, then auctioned them off. 100% of the proceeds went to Devereux.

Future projects that are currently being discussed include AMI-sponsored business seminars and training for the older children of Devereux. Some of the potential topics for discussion would include Money Management (emphasizing maintaining good credit), Successful Interviews from Start-to-Finish, Customer Service and Telephone Etiquette.

Birch Family Services

Founded in 1975 by Phyllis Susser, Birch was named in honor of her mentor, Dr. Herbert G. Birch. The agency has grown from one samall school into a large network of programs serving a wide range of New Yorkers who face significant challenges. Birch is an organization that operates 8 schools and 8 residences for children and adults with special needs. For more than 32 years, Birch Family Services has been providing educational, residential and family support programs that enable exceptional people to reach their highest potential. In October of 2006 at the Annual Voices of Hope Fundraiser at the Copacabana in New York, AMI CEO Glenn Goldman was honored for his tireless volunteerism and active Board of Directors participation.

Grand Street Settlement

AMI has offered support to our restaurant customers through participation in a cause that they truly value: New York City's Grand Street Settlement. The city's yearly "Taste of the Lower East Side" event benefits Grand Street's youth programs, and features Manhattan's hottest restaurants sampling their finest dishes. AMI has offered support and sponsorship for this worthwhile event many times since our first sponsorship in 2004. The Settlement encourages and nurtures self-determination among families and individuals through support, learning, advocacy, and community building.

Atlanta Community Food Bank

AMI has been a proud sponsor of the "Taste of Atlanta" which is an event that benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). This annual event usually has over 60 local restaurants offering tastings to more than 14,000 attendees. ACFB provides food and other donated products to more than 750 non-profit partner agencies, serving 38 counties across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

American Red Cross

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated large sections of the Louisiana coastline. The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and resulting tsunami in Southeast Asia was the worst natural disaster in recorded history. These catastrophes impacted the people, economy, and the physical landscape of regions all over the world. To offer support, the employees of AMI donated time and financial resources to the recovery and assistance efforts being led by the American Red Cross, specifically aiding those affected by these natural disasters.

Starting with our first collaboration in June of 2005, AMI has been a proud sponsor of events hosted by Citymeals-on-Wheels of New York. These events feature gourmet masterpieces prepared by top chefs from New York and across the country. The proceeds of these events are used to create and deliver hundreds of thousands of meals to vulnerable homebound New York City citizens. Citymeals-on-Wheels is a community organization delivering more than two million meals each year, and it funds 120 community-based agencies to bring weekly, holiday, and emergency meals to homebound and physically challenged elderly New Yorkers. AMI is proud to offer continuing support to this worthwhile event, and to sponsor other charitable events important to our clients and their communities.
